Mission: Improve the educational, moral and economic well-being of the youth of Pamlico County

PYDCO, Inc is a 501 (C) 3 Non-Profit Youth Development Organization whose mission is to improve the Educational, Moral and the Economic well being of the youth of Pamlico County.  PYDCO, Inc has been operating in Pamlico County since 2004 and has done outstanding work improving the educational well-being of our youth by mentoring and nurturing the youth of Pamlico County. 

Meaningful Projects

Bibles to Graduating Seniors 2006, 07 and 08; Fun Day before the opening of school to show that the community cares about our youth and to distribute needed school supplies for needy students, fall of 2006, 07; we held fun day during the Spring break in 2007, 08 which included all day activities at Camp Don Lee, students had the opportunity to go sailing, canoeing,  participate in archery and basketball,  Student had the opportunity to attended drug prevention seminars and other moral and cultural enhancing activities.  Students visited  Parrish Capital, Inc in Durham, NC to see a Multi-Billion Dollar investment firm headed by a former Pamlico County High School student.  The purpose of the trip was to expose the student's financial world and that with the proper preparation being from Pamlico County is no obstacle.  Attended the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball tournament.  That event exposed the students to Twelve Historically Black Universities who have excellent records of meeting the educational needs of the students in our area.  PYDCO have provided numerous dinners to needy families during Thanksgiving.  By giving gifts, food and love, PYDCO have kept the spirit of Christmas in the lives of many needy families during the Holiday Season.   PYDCO have collaborated with other youth development and care giving institutions to enhance the quality of education, reduce student drop-out and increase end of grade scores.   Our volunteers participate in supporting, promoting, and encouraging all seniors to attend the Project Graduation activity.
