Pamlico County, a designated 21st Century School, prepares young men and women to successfully become life-time learners at very high levels of achievement. Pamlico County graduates continue to excel as productive members of our society and the students of today realize their roles in a future global society.
Students are challenged to think analytically, logically and creatively to "mirror" the needs of society as they enter their careers beyond high school, whether it is for further study in college, the military, or the job market. This is done by requiring all students to take and pass five rigorous North Carolina State exams and to challenge themselves by earning Advanced Placement or college-level credits prior to graduation.
Pamlico County Schools also focuses on the needs of the private sector by making sure that graduates are able to demonstrate effective communication skills, involved citizenship, personal excellence and the expertise of a life-long learner/worker. Students demonstrate these skills in the classroom and through a wide variety of extra-curricular activities that are offered by the District that include performing and visual arts, athletics, and service clubs.
Mastery of test requirements and constantly living these skills make Pamlico County Graduates highly valued throughout our nation. With the comprehensive support of technology in every classroom throughout the District, students and faculty are able to communicate globally and to effectively access tools and materials in our information-rich society.

The Board of Education, Administration, Teachers, Staff, Parents and Community -- especially our County Commissioners and State Legislators -- work collaboratively to ensure that this mission is accomplished for every child. Supportive and well-versed Board Members, effective educational leaders, excellent National Board Certified Teachers and involved support services and parents form a unique partnership that embraces learning at all levels in a safe, orderly and enriched environment.
