Based on findings and recommendations developed by the Blue Ribbon Commission on Testing and Accountability, the North Carolina State Board of Education believes that critical improvements can be made to the current testing system that will lead to greater effectiveness, understanding, and transparency. In addition, the Board is committed to building a new assessment system that reflects 21st century assessment and accountability systems.
