Pamlico County Schools Press Release from the Pamlico County School Superintendent on Mr. Adam Hatch, New Principal of Pamlico County High School April 13, 2010 Mr. Adam Hatch, Newly Appointed Principal of Pamlico High School Mr. Adam Hatch was appointed as the new Principal of Pamlico High School by the Board of Education at their regular meeting of April 12, 2010. Mr. Hatch served as a Social Studies teacher for 6 years in Lee, Martin and Bertie Counties before becoming Assistant Principal at Tarboro High School in Edgecombe County for the past 2 ½ years. Prior to his time in education he served for five years as a writer for the Herald-Sun and Journal Patriot newspapers, both located in North Carolina. Mr. Hatch's past experiences with facilitating School Improvement Plans, positive behavior systems, extracurricular activities, hiring and induction processes, teacher and staff evaluations, the one to one laptop initiative and district-level committee work have prepared him well to assume this new role. Mr. Hatch stated, "...students need to learn to survive in the 21st Century, even if they aren't aware of how badly they need it. Our job is to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and help them achieve their maximum potential".
