Pamlico County Middle School Royal Court contest raised $13,006.76 to purchase educational supplies for students, teachers, and the school.  During the Winter Dance and Crowning ceremony, King Justin Harrison and Queen Samantha New won top honors by raising the most money.  Their royal court consisted of 1st Prince Garret Whorton, 1st Princess Peyton Davis, 2nd Prince Matthew Garrison, 2nd Princess Hunter Leary, 3rd Prince Michael Jordan, and 3rd Princess Lyndsey White. Due to a misprint in the crowning ceremony, we would like to highlight Samantha New, our 2008-2009 Queen.  Samantha is an 8th grader from Mrs. B. Tyndall's homeroom.  She is the daughter of Donna and Jeff New of Arapahoe.  Samantha enjoys hanging out with her friends and spending time with her family.  She is a member of the PCMS soccer team.

All of the winners received a cash prize and a reception in their honor at the Winter Dance held on December 19th.  Henry Rice, principal, will treat the winners to a lunch at a restaurant of their choice, via limousine at a later date.  Thanks to the many parents, grandparents, guardians, and the PCMS faculty and staff for helping to make this fundraiser a huge success.  Other participating students were Alex Garcia, Jasmine Midgette, Soyoung Tripp, Caleb Schmidt, Taylor Dunn, Jamal Coffey, and Trisha Gable.  Also participating was little Miss Layla Prescott, Royal Attendant.
